There are more than 50 million refugees in the world. Some of which may be crying as we speak.

Syria has a big refugee crisis as well as South-east asia, The Mediterranean and Africa and over 3 million have run from Syria to other countries such as Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq.

The Syrian civil war has pressed lots of refugees to run away. The Big reason is because of war and fighting. Picture this, crying, fear and  fighting. I sure wouldn’t want to live in a country like that.

The UNHCR helps the Syrian refugees and they also help the Filipino refugees. They help provide shelter, food and water.They help against extremely dangerous circumstances.

What’s in the box

Aim- We are trying to find out how far the two cars will go by watching them go down a ramp.

Hypothesis- The bigger car will go farther because it has more pressure because of its weight.

Method-  1.Make a ramp  2.Get two cars  3.Let the cars go down the ramp one by one with equal placing  4.see which one went the farthest

Results- Miss aspelling pushed one car down the ramp and let the other car go down on it’s own.

Conclusion- It wasn’t a fair test because the results weren't equal.

Brand-Complaint

To Nestle,

I really enjoy your Kit-Kats and they are extremely delicious but due to you having palm oil in your Kit-Kats I will have to stop eating your brand.

Did you know that by using palm oil you are chopping down the orangutans homes and there are now not many orangutans left because of this.

If you decide to stop using palm oil in your chocolate (such as Kit-Kats) please let me know because then I will go back to eating your chocolate. In the meantime I will eat Whittaker’s chocolate because it is also delicious and has no palm oil.

Saint Maximillian Kolbe

Saint  Maximilian  Kolbe

Saint Maximilian Kolbe was a Franciscan priest and was born in Poland in 1894. His real name was Raymund but it changed to Maximilian when he became a Franciscan priest. When he was a student he started a group of people who dedicated their lives to Mother Mary and God and it was called  The Militia. He also published a magazine called The Knight to help people learn about Mary and God.

His cause was to help people learn about God, Jesus, Mary and to be good people and he did that when Germany invaded Poland in September 1 1939. He was taken to German work camps and when he went back to his friary he showed he was humanitarian because he looked after thousands of Jewish refugees who were terrorised by the Germans.

He upset the Germans when he wrote critical things about them and so they arrested him and took him to Auschwitz Concentration Camp where he had to wear striped pajamas.The prisoner number on his striped pajamas was 16670.

There were lots of escapes at the camp and every single time there was an escape 10 people were chosen and were starved to death. On August 1ts  1941 there was another escape and when the 10th man was chosen he cried out that he had a wife and children and he would never see them again. Maximilian switched places with the man and was taken to the airless chamber to starve to death but after a few weeks he was the only one alive singing praises to God and so they gave him shots of poisonous acid and that is how his love for others led to his death. He became a saint on October in 1982. He was a great man and an inspiration to everyone.

Love, Danger, Fairies, Persevering and magic

Annie’s older sister Gwendolyn A.K.A sleeping beauty woke up from true love’s kiss but unfortunately that true love is stuck in the body of a bear from an evil dwarf. Annie must find that dwarf to break the spell. But will she be able to do it ???

Things I liked- It was funny, interesting and the way E.D. Baker wrote was beautiful.

Things I didn't like- The parts about love and how no one liked annie.

Endangered Orangutan

Orangutan

Orangutans only live in Sumatra and Borneo which are islands in Indonesia and Malaysia. There used to be around 315, 000 Orangutans in the world but now there is less than 6, 600 left because of the production of Palm oil.

Orangutans are losing friends, family and their homes which is really sad.

Some products that have Palm oil in them are biodiesel, pizza dough, cookies, chocolate and lipstick.

Think about it, in a way you are destroying the Orangutan population.  You could help by trying to stop using products that have Palm oil in them. For more information look at the auckland zoo site.

My ideal weekend

My ideal weekend

My ideal weekend would be playing with friends, sleeping in and maybe going Ice-skating. I usually have pretty boring weekends so my ideal weekend would be amazingly awesome.

My favourite thing to do in the weekend would be to have a sleepover with my best friend K.C. because then we could have a midnight feast and tell ghost stories about K.C.’s old, rotten doll, Chum-Chum. It is really fun to play with friends because they are really special and you can’t just throw them away like an used t-shirt.

My second best thing to do in the weekend would be to play Minecraft all day long with Estelle because she is obsessed with minecraft. We would build an adventure theme park with parkour, maybe some bow and arrow games, swimming pools, roller coasters and lots of other things.

My third and final best thing to do in the weekend would be to go swimming with my next-door neighbour

Aziza. We usually go to Cameron pools which is down the road from our house. I really like going underwater because it makes me feel calm.

I absolutely love the weekends because they are full of fun(sometimes). Boring weekends are okay but ideal weekends are the best especially if I get to go to K.C.’s, go swimming and play minecraft with Estelle. Ideal weekends are the best.
